About Adrian C. Dumitru, MD

Adrian C. Dumitru, MD, is a board-certified interventional pain management specialist at Houston Pain Services in Houston, Texas. 

Dr. Dumitru began his 27-year journey toward mastering the complexities of pain management by becoming an anesthesiologist. In pain management, a field where everyone from family therapists to general practitioners often participate, Dr. Dumitru saw the need for a physician with his particular expertise to oversee a multi-disciplinary approach. Anesthesiology, after all, is one of the ultimate forms of pain management.

Dr. Dumitru’s educational background includes a medical degree from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania, an internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine, and a pain management fellowship. 

Today, as a recognized expert in this relatively new field, Dr. Dumitru sums up his practice philosophy as follows: “My patient comes first; everything evolves from that.” He takes particular pride in personally attending to each patient and learning their lifestyles, aspirations, and needs firsthand. His practice is built on the philosophy of one-on-one care – when you come to Houston Pain Services, you see Dr. Dumitru directly. 

At Houston Pain Services, patients are treated holistically. Careful consideration is given to someone’s pain threshold, emotional state, and cultural differences.

To best serve his patients, Dr. Dumitru maintains membership in several professional societies, including the American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA), the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, the Harris County Medical Society (HCMS), and the Spine Intervention Society (SIS).
